Villa Mirasol can accommodate wedding parties/events of up to 25 guests (sit down) and 50 (standing). One-night additional rental fee (minimum 3-night rental required).
We stayed here in February 2012 as a family reunion (group of 8 adults). The Villa is located about an hour drive from La Paz in a development in Bahia de los Suenos (formerly known as Bahia de los Muertos). The development was designed for about 300 homes but so far only about 20 have actually been built. There is also a golf course, a private beach club and a restaurant called 1535 which is very good. The villa itself is next door to the beach club and sits directly on a white sandy beach. Other than the above mentioned, there is not much else so you will be isolated staying here which is a good or bad thing depending on your preferences. There are 5 bedrooms in the villa. The master bedroom suite upstairs will elicit an OMG on first viewing! We gave this bedroom to my cousins who were celebrating their honeymoon. The other 4 bedrooms are located on the ground floor and are similar in size. Two have two queen beds each and two have a king bed each. All open directly on to the patio via sliding doors. All bedrooms have panoramic views of the ocean. Living on the west coast, it is not often that I get to watch the sun rise and enjoyed wrapping myself in a blanket and lying on a lounge chair early each morning to watch. Each bedroom has a large bathroom/closet combo with double sinks and a separate toilet/shower area. The central ground floor kitchen/dining/living room is spacious and has all modern conveniences. One thing we all appreciated was the beautiful artwork throughout the villa. Overall the decor was exceptionally tasteful and well thought out. It felt like someones home, not a hotel. The patio is where you will be spending most of your time. There is a nice pool/jacuzzi combo and a huge palapa furnished with about 5 tables with chairs for outdoor dining or relaxing. There is also a large propane BBQ for outdoor grilling. The beach is reached by a wooden walkway and there are additional chairs on the beach with 2 kayaks for guest use. Beach towels are furnished in a large basket. Two of my cousins rented a fishing boat and guide one morning for about $120. They came back happy with 2 large snapper that could have fed us for several days. This area has a very good reputation for fishing and there is a fleet of about 20 small boats that go out daily from the public beach nearby. Dining options consist of 1. Do it yourself using groceries you purchased before you left La Paz 2. Restaurant 1535, a 10 minute drive or 20 minute walk, which is reasonably priced and has the best chili rellanos I have ever eaten. Or possibly the beach club next door. 3 Hire the cook the owners use when they stay there for about $45/person per day for breakfast and dinner served family style. Their food was plentiful and good. Lydia's flan was especially tasty. We used a combination of all of the above and were happy with the results. There are some small local groceries in a village about 15 minutes away but these will carry only the basics like beer and chips. Our only complaint while we were there was the lack of warm water. The pool did not get warm enough to use until our 4th day there. Also it took a couple of days to get more than tepid water in the showers in some of the bedrooms. The couple who cares for the house did their best to please us. Overall, we were more than pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend this villa to others.
